I loved using "Before Five In A Row" and "Five In A Row" Volumes 1, 2, and 3 for Katy pre-K through 2nd grade. In third grade we used "The Prairie Primer" - a curriculum based on Laura Ingalls Wilder's "Little on the Prairie" books. During these years we also have used and are still using "Saxon Math" and "Rod and "Staff" English and Spelling. For 4th grade this year in addition to "Saxon Math" and "Rod and Staff", we have added some "Bob Jones" curriculum as well. Katy has her religion class with her dad and private piano lessons. Katy loves attending "Awana" with her friends. She loves to read (especially "Magic Tree House", "Geronimo Stilton", "Hank the Cowdog"), draw, and collect stuffed animals. She has recently taken up knitting. And Katy is our church organist! I love to read, but this time is limited, so this past summer I started to listen to books on tape/CD/Playway while I clean house and prepare meals. (I have especially enjoyed Philippa Gregory's books about Henry VIII… Yes, I am now participating in the library's adult reading program!) I teach Sunday School and lead a ladies Bible study at our church. My hobby is sewing and I wish I had more time to actually pursue it. Tony is the pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in La Junta. You can hear him on the radio every Sunday morning at 8:30AM on our local station KTHN 92.1 FM serving as the speaker on the program called, "The Lutheran Difference". He also works part-time for Renzenberger, which is perfect for him as his hobby is model railroading. Tony is also a musician. He plays saxophone, flute, clarinet, harmonica and bass guitar. He also has a wonderful voice. You may have seen him as "Clarence" in the Picketwire production of "It's A Wonderful Life" a couple of years ago and just this past December in the Arkansas Valley Choir performing "The Messiah". |
